Tiny green leaves of ‘To Ann’ sprouted in a small two-bedroom apartment where Anushka lived with her sister. The brand was nurtured during thoughtful after-work hours as she juggled her 9-to-7 job, putting together a collection born from her long-cherished dream. A year ago, while happy and doing well at work, Anushka yearned for something more. This realization came during a casual family conversation at home when her parents said, “If this doesn’t seem like you, find that ‘you’ and we’ll be here for you while you figure that out!”

Thus, ‘To Ann’ was born—a culmination of years of longing and a testament to the power of following her gut.

As Anushka once reflected, "I was a child lost in a world of colors, a dreamer with a sketch book for a confidante. My hands, always restless, yearned to create, to transform the ordinary into extraordinary." Her love for randomness is evident in her childhood collection of stray pieces of fabric, ribbons, beads, and pearls, which inspire her designs that never conform to a single alignment. Calling herself a mix-media designer, Anushka’s childhood habit of mixing styles of handwriting and using various art supplies reflects in her patterns.Like a circle, she seeks to eternally move ahead, transcending boundaries with her unique style.

In her designs, she chooses no one way—sometimes using tone after tone, other times embracing slightly contrasting elements, and occasionally showcasing the backside of her embroidery as the front. Her pieces feature classic silhouettes combined with abstract and random embroidery, adorned with beads, sequins, and threads that are both comfortable and elegant. Each collection is crafted for every mood and moment.

When asked about occasions for wearing her creations, Anushka believes, "It is important for me to wear what I like, regardless of whether I am going out or staying home. I love dressing up in my embroidered textiles."
